COVID-19 Vaccination Pop-Ups at LAVC
LAVC is partnering with Fulgent Genetics to hold weekly On-Campus Vaccination Clinics for students, employees and the public to vaccinated. The Pfizer (ages 12+) and Moderna (ages 18+) vaccines are available at all vaccination events, and the Pfizer Pediatric (5-12) vaccine is also available.
Walk-ups are welcome, or you can make an appointment online with Fulgent Genetics. Learn what to bring with you to your appointment.

LA Valley College provides grants to students with identified financial needs that compromise their ability to continue their studies or successfully engage in their classes.
Eligibility will be determined using the following criteria:
- LAVC is your home campus,
- Be enrolled in credit classes at LAVC, and
- Demonstrate financial need.

LAVC Monarch College Store Financial Aid Book Loan Program
A financial aid book loan has been established in the College Monarch Store to allow qualified financial aid students to purchase the required instructional materials at the store.
The loan amount due will be automatically deducted from the student's grant refund. Should the student become ineligible for their grant, the loan is owed immediately and is a responsibility of the student. A hold will be placed on your record if funds are not collected. These funds are limited.
All students who qualified for the Book Loan will receive an email from Los Angeles Valley College with details on how to place their order.
LAVC Library
The LAVC Library offers in-person book checkout and study spaces, with 24/7 access to online help via their “Ask A Librarian” page, Research Guides, and FAQs.
Free Online Tutoring from the Academic Resource Center
The LAVC Academic Resource Center offers FREE online tutoring in Math, Statistics, English and other many other classes, test reviews, and study jams. In-person services include weekly workshops, guides and support for using online tutoring, and access to computers through the Computer Commons.
LA County Library Access from Home
The LA County Library Access from Home program has many digital resources you can access 24/7, no matter where you are using your computer or device. All you need is your library card number and PIN.

Los Angeles Room & Board Pilot Program
Current low-income LACCD students who are experiencing homelessness can apply for the Los Angeles Room & Board (LARNB) Pilot Program, which will provide with transitional housing, meals and other student support services in a large, single dwelling building in Westwood, near UCLA. Due to COVID-19, the program will start now with only about 35 students.
Students interested in the program are encouraged to fill out the LARNB Opportunity House application.
Expanded Hygiene Services for People Experiencing Homelessness in Los Angeles
In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, the City and County of Los Angeles have deployed expanded hygiene services to better support our unsheltered neighbors.

Welcome to Summer 2022 at Valley College
Dear Student,
Welcome to LA Valley College! We are so excited to have you join us this summer, and are here to help you reach your academic and career goals.
With Summer classes start tomorrow, so here are some helpful tips for your first day of classes:
Access Your Online Class
To log into your online class through the SIS/Canvas:
- In a web browser, go to the MyCollege.laccd.edu Student Portal
- Login ID/Users ID: Your 9-digit student ID number (example: 881234567 or 900123456)
- Password: Same as your SIS password (where you registered for the class). Show me how to log in to the LACCD Student Portal
Help with Canvas
To access help in Canvas, log into the Student Portal. Click the "Help" (question mark icon) and select your main college campus. The "Canvas Support" link will take you to a page that allows you to:
- Search in the Canvas area for questions related to using Canvas
- Search your college area for other questions
- If you still can't find the answers you need, there will also be a link to start an online chat with Canvas Support.
You can also find assistance through the Virtual Valley Help Desk.
On-Campus Safety Check-In
If you are taking in-person classes or seeking in-person services:
- Check your campus email daily to take the Cleared4 Self-Check questionnaire before you arrive on campus each day, and check-in with your QR code at a campus scanning station in any campus building.
- Starting June 13, masking indoors is no longer required, but is highly recommended. Surgical grade masks are available at the entrance of every campus building.
- FREE Covid testing is available on-campus every Tuesday during the Summer. Learn how to set up an appointment through Cleared4.
- If you feel sick, do not come to campus and contact your instructor.
Campus Map & Parking
Check the campus map to help you locate your classroom location, and where to access campus parking lots. On-campus student parking is FREE during Summer session, but please remember not to park in “Staff” or “Reserved” spots.
Requesting a Permission Number to Add a Class
If you wish to add a class, you can add online until the second day of class. If you wish to add after the second class meeting, you will need to get a permission number from the instructor to be able to add the class. You can contact your instructor for a permission number. Learn how to email an instructor using the LACCD SIS Class Search.
Officially Enrolling with Permission Number
If you receive a permission number, use the SIS Student Portal to enter that number by the add deadline for the class to be officially enrolled.
Apply Now for a 2022 Computing Device
Computing devices are available for students with identified financial needs that compromise their ability to continue their studies or successfully engage in their classes. Learn how to apply for a computing device.
Get Your FREE Metro GoPass!
All enrolled LAVC students are eligible to receive a FREE Metro GoPass. This pass can be used to take any Metro bus or train at no charge—until the end of 2022! Stop by the Business Office in the Student Union (view campus map) with your picture ID to get your GoPass.

- Campus Bookstore - Purchase textbooks, course materials and Monarch gear. Your order can be picked up in-person, or free shipping is available (for textbooks only). To search and buy your required textbooks and supplies, go to Buy Textbooks.
- Counseling - Counselors can help identify your educational goal and make sure you take the right classes.
- Financial Aid - Get help paying for college with grants and other resources.
- Services for Students with Disabilities (SSD) - Provides support services, specialized instruction and educational accommodations.
