The Promise @ LAVC How to Apply

The Promise at LAVC

Required steps for the Promise at LAVC:

1.pngApply to LAVC: Submit a Los Angeles Valley College Application for Admission. Once you complete the application you will receive an email with your LACCD Student ID. 
2.pngApply to the Promise: Complete the LA College Promise Interest Form. 
3.pngFinancial Aid: Complete your 2021-22 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) form or California Dream Act Application and confirm that it's received by LAVC's Financial Aid Department.
4.pngPlacement: View Math or Statistics and English placements in your Los Angeles Community College District (LACCD) Student Portal.
5.pngOnline Orientation: Complete the LAVC New Student Online Orientation in your Los Angeles Community College District (LACCD) Student Portal. Sign in to your student portal, go to student status, and click on orientation.
6.pngCounseling- Get your Fall 2021 & Spring 2022 Classes: Attend a First Year Student Educational Planning (SEP) session to get your classes. Click HERE to sign up for a session.
7.pngEnroll: Register in at least 12 units (or qualify for an accommodation of a reduced course load through the Services for Students with Disabilities (SSD) Office). Enroll in the classes listed in your SEP.
7.pngEnroll in a Transition Activity. We  will send you an email with instructions about this activity after you complete this requirement.

Note: Students enrolled in the Promise at Los Angeles Valley College for the first year do not need to apply for the second year.
