Requests for Letters of Recommendation

Here are some tips for you when approaching a professor for a letter of recommendation:

1. Give the professor plenty of time to write. Two weeks is a good rule of thumb.
2. Write a note with information relevant to your application.
3. Provide the year, course name and section # or professor’s class.
4. Bring any specific forms you may need filled out by the professor.
