The Registered Nursing Program at Los Angeles Valley College began as a project of the UCLA School of Nursing on July 1, 1959. The first class of 30 students was admitted in September of 1960 and all graduated in June of 1962. Our Nursing Program is approved by the California Board of Registered Nursing (CABRN) and accredited by the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN). National accreditation is a prestigious accomplishment for the nursing program at Los Angeles Valley College. National accreditation and State continuing approval holds the Nursing Program at a high standard and assures a program of excellence.

Our Respiratory Therapy Program Began in 1974 and quickly developed a reputation of excellence in education. Our Advanced Level Respiratory Therapy Program is accredited by the Committee of Accreditation of Respiratory Care (CoARC). In 1995, our Respiratory Therapy program was awarded the “Outstanding Vocational Education Program in California” award. This honor means that our program was considered the best vocational program of all of the vocational programs in all of the community colleges in California.

My future success will always be credited to the foundation they have given me. Thank you, Valley College.”
