BLACK HISTORY MONTH (BHM): The LAVC Umoja Black Scholars invites you to an African Drum Making and Naming Ceremony, which is a traditional, culturally rich event that celebrates the creation and christening of drums. It involves artisans skillfully crafting drums, followed by a communal naming ritual, symbolizing the instrument's spiritual significance and its role in community life.

This event is open to all current and prospective students, faculty, staff and the general public.
