Understanding Highly Selective College Admissions: Guide to understanding what factors are used by highly competitive colleges in determining admissions.

Paying for College - Financial Aid 101: A guide on how to plan for paying for college and the financial aid process.

Fall PreK-12 African American Parent Empowerment Summit: The Village Nation Partnership extends warmest greetings to you and your family. We hope all are safe and well. We salute you for all you have done and are doing to help your child have a positive experience with distance learning. If you’re looking for tips and strategies to improve your child’s learning experience, join us for the Fall PreK-12 African American Parent Summit and Black Student Forum on Saturday, September 12.

The University of California Admissions: In this workshop, you will learn about the 9 campuses of the University of California, First Year and Transfer admissions requirements, majors, financial aid, and more.

Community College Support Programs at LAVC: The session will include representatives from TRiO, Puente, Student Life, DRC, EOPS and Guardian Scholars discussing the programs to help you succeed in community college.

CA Community Colleges - The Promise: Learn about the variety of programs offered at California Community Colleges. We will talk about Transfer, Certificates, Degrees, and the College Promsie.

CA Dream Act Application: Dreamers, come learn about the Dream Act application process.

Why EOP? ; The Importance of Writing Strong EOP Statement and Tips on Making it Easy! This workshop focuses on the importance of students applying for EOP when applying to the CSU, the benefits of EOP and how to answer the EOP questions

Make Your College Application Essay Stand Out: Tips on how to make yourself a desireable applicant through your college essay.

Rally the Valley for Black Excellence and Empowerment! 2020 – year of pandemic, school closure, racial unrest and a pivotal election – all at once. The Black Family and Student Forums are a space to lift every voice, renew our collective energies and draw strength from our legacy of resilience as we face these challenges together. Celebrate change agents across the generations who have continued to inspire and advance the cause of racial justice. Help set priorities for the action agenda to promote African American student achievement in 2020-21 and beyond!

Child Family and Education Careers and Academic Pathways at LA Mission College: Learn about the career options in education. Sessions will cover certificate, degrees, and transfer options if you are interested in working with children, families, and education.
