About PaCES
The goal of the PaCES Program is to increase the retention and success of students interested in STEM and to provide support and resources that include professional and career explorations and links to transfer, summer research programs, graduate programs, and paid internshps.
PaCES is a 2-track program:
Track 1: for new entering or early college students
Track 2: for students preparing for transfer


This program is open to all Valley & Pierce STEM students

- 2-Unit Research Methods Class
- 1-Week Immersive Research Experience at the USC Wrigley Institute at Catalina Island
- Connections to paid internships in STEM
- Connection to STEM professionals and mentors

- First year/entering student at LAVC or Pierce College
- Undeclared majors exploring STEM
- Students intending to major in STEM
- Students in their 2nd year or beyond at LAVC or Pierce College
- Students preparing to transfer for Fall 2023
