LAVC Dept. of Foreign Languages Film Discussion Club: SUMMER 2020 (biweekly starting Friday, June 12, 2020, 6pm: Please view film beforehand)

During Summer 2020 the LAVC Department of Foreign Languages is hosting an informal, non-credit film discussion club. Beginning on Friday, June 12, we will be having biweekly discussions on films in French, German, Italian, and Spanish. These films should, not only keep you immersed in the language that you’re currently studying throughout the year, but also help deepen your understanding of the various cultures shown in the films. 

Before each conversation on Zoom (see links below), we strongly suggest that all films be viewed on Kanopy (using your LAVC student ID): https://lavc.kanopy.com. Each film discussion will take place between 6pm-7pm on the selected Fridays listed below. Please assume that all films are rated R unless otherwise stated. You can check IMDB for more specific information on each film’s plot summary and content. Each discussion may take place either in the language of the film to be discussed, or also in English. Since this is an informal, non-credit summer discussion group, we invite our past and present students to view, not only films in the language that you are studying, but also in the other languages that our department offers!
