WELCOME TO THE DEPARTMENT OF WORLD LANGUAGES AND CULTURES

The Department of World Languages offers AA Degrees in French, German, Italian, Spanish, and World Languages, as well as a Skills Certificate in Spanish Language. In addition to our language courses, we also offer courses in linguistics, literature, and civilization. Whether you're learning a new language to improve your employability, to study or live overseas, to discover new cultures, or to meet new people and to develop life-long friendships, you're bound to find the right course and instructor here at LAVC to begin your world language study!

If you're planning to transfer to a four-year college or university, also remember that world language majors are excellent alternatives to the more impacted majors.

In planning your program, do remember that not all courses are offered every semester.
