Jonathan Arnold, Esq.


Educated at Oxford University and with William F. Flahavan, Esq. (Law), USC (B.A.), CSUN (Cert., Contract Management) and Pepperdine University (Cert., Mediation), Jonathan Arnold is versed in the commercial, export, general/outside counsel, insurance, intellectual property, international, solar power/telecommunications, space, transactional and UCC fields. With experience in law firms and for companies such as Boeing, Jonathan is an excellent advocate, communicator and manager versed in working diverse sets of information across different departments and multiple projects, aligning immediate activities to current and future client/company objectives.

In his capacity as a member of the Los Angeles County Superior Court’s party-pay ADR panel, Jonathan provided arbitration and mediation services on numerous commercial cases and his speaking engagements cover presentations on international trade, nondisclosure agreements, indemnity types and insurance, federal issues in contractual risk management (which he co-chaired with NASA’s former Chief Counsel at the Dryden Flight Research Center, Edwards Air Force Base) and contracting with the Department of Homeland Security. Jonathan also worked for several years as an audio presenter for the California State Bar-approved Finz Advance Tape Series on MCLE courses covering current and emerging statutory/case law trends in alternative dispute resolution, contracts, employment, insurance, licensing, media/entertainment, proprietary information/trade secrets and torts.

Jonathan’s contract drafting and negotiating experience includes agreements with Apple, Boeing, Google, Hewlett-Packard, IBM, metroPCS, Microsoft, ThalesAlenia Space France and Aldi Einkauf GmbH & Compagnie, oHG. Most recently, Jonathan worked for Boeing at Spectrolab, where in addition to export control, he negotiated, drafted and managed aerospace-based contracts relating to both space/terrestrial solar products and illuminations technologies in the commercial and international market(s). Previously, Jonathan worked for Boeing at Rocketdyne in connection with government and commercial contracts for space propulsion programs, including the Space Shuttle Main Engine (SSME) and related rocket technologies.

He is also a published author and in addition to articles in the California International Law Journal, his work has appeared in the Los Angeles Daily Journal, Contract Management Magazine, Bar Notes/Valley Lawyer. Jonathan also provided editorial support for two Rutter Group/Thomson Reuters texts: California Practice Guide: Personal Injury and Attorney Malpractice: Risks & Solutions.

In conjunction with his political work as a Campaign Chairman for the California 40th State Assembly seat and a Regional Campaign Manager on Gil Garcetti’s successful campaign for Los Angeles District Attorney, Jonathan also has many years of experience in both public and private sector high-technology and entertainment companies that includes posts at Boeing, Cannon Films, Dubl-Click Software, Inc., the Law Offices of William F. An active member of the California Bar, Mr. Arnold is also admitted to practice before the U.S. District Court, Central District and the U.S. Tax Court. He is a member of the American Bar Association (ABA), the American Society of International Law (ASIL), the California Copyright Conference (CCC), the California Supreme Court Historical Society (CSCHS), the International Association of Contract & Commercial Management (IACCM), the Los Angeles County Bar Association (LACBA), a former Trustee for the San Fernando Valley Bar Association (SFVBA), and was the past-President of the San Fernando Valley Chapter of the National Contract Management Association (NCMA).
