LAVC Receives $3M Grant to launch a Dual Enrollment to Careers Program

The Los Angeles Valley College (LAVC) has been awarded a five-year $3 million Title V grant from the U.S. Department of Education to expand its dual enrollment program. The Caminos Al Triunfo: Dual Enrollment to Career project, which is Spanish for “Paths to Success, will increase college-level course offerings at local high school campuses and create new career pathways for students of color.

Calling all actors! The LAVC Theater Arts Department is holding open auditions for its virtual production of Love and Information by Caryl Churchill. The LAVC Astronomy Group is hosting a free lecture on “Spectroscopy: What Light Tells Us” on September 20 at 7:45 p.m.-8:45 p.m. on Zoom. Tom Field, contributing editor at Sky & Telescope Magazine, and creator of RSpec, a software program that allows amateur astronomers to capture star spectra, will explain how spectroscopy works.
