Baseline COVID-19 Testing Appointments for Students & Employees

Biocept is offering baseline and weekly COVID-19 testing at LA Valley College for students and employees (by appointment only) on Mondays and Tuesdays in Engineering 100; check the Districtwide COVID Testing schedule. All students and employees need to have a completed baseline test by Biocept by the ext. Schedule your appointment using your private Cleared4 account link that was send to your student email.


No Estoy Crazy: Mental Health in the Latinx Community

COVID-19 Vaccination Clinic

LAVC is partnering with Fulgent Genetics to hold an on-campus COVID-19 Vaccination Clinic on October 19 for students, employees and the public to get the vaccine or booster/third dose. No appointment needed; all three vaccines options will be available. Plus, LAVC students and employees who get vaccinated at this event will receive a $150 gift card to the LAVC Bookstore.

Announcement for Students

Get Vaccinated or Request an Exemption before the November 19th Deadline

Effective October 15, 2021, the District is providing a grace period for compliance with the vaccine mandate, Board Policy 2900:

  • Students have until 5 p.m., Friday, November 19, 2021 to provide proof of vaccination or submit an exemption, and complete a baseline test. This grace period allows you to create and complete your Cleared4 account, upload your proof of CDC or WHO-compliant vaccination, provide all other required information, and schedule your initial onboarding COVID-19 test.
     
  • If you are not vaccinated yet, get your one dose or first dose of a two-dose sequence immediately and upload your proof of vaccination to your Cleared4 account. Come to one of the LAVC Vaccination Clinics (walk-up or make an appointment) and get a $150 Bookstore Gift Card incentive with your on-campus dose. Learn how to create your Cleared4 acccount.
     
  • To submit an exemption request, please upload the exemption request form to the Student Portal by the new November 19 deadline. Learn how to submit a COVID-19 Vaccination Exemption.

$1000 Federal Awards for LAVC Students with Financial Aid

Every LA Valley College student enrolled for Fall 2021 who qualifies for financial aid is eligible to receive a $1000 federal stimulus award. To receive the award, you must:

  • Have LAVC as your home campus,
  • Be enrolled at Valley College for Fall 2021, AND
  • Be eligible for the FAFSA, California College Promise Grant (fee waiver), Dream Act Grant, or demonstrate economic hardship resulting from COVID-19

If you haven't already applied for financial aid, complete your Free Application for Federal Student (FAFSA) application (LAVC code is 001228) or complete the California College Promise Grant Application.

If you already applied for financial aid, there is no need for you to do anything further. You will automatically receive the award if you qualify.
