Oct. 18 is Deadline for Vaccination Proof & Baseline COVID Test

The Los Angeles Community College District 's Board of Trustees made a significant Board Policy change about COVID-19 vaccine and testing requirements to access college and District facilities.

Valley Community Healthcare will provide flu vaccines for students at no cost on October 7, 11 and 14 in the Student Health Center. Pre-registration is required. Register online to get your Flu Vaccine.

Hear at campus update from LAVC President Dr. Barry Gribbons on YouTube Live on the District's vaccination deadline for students, extension of the Baseline Testing deadline, and Virtual Registration assistance available for Late-Start classes. Baseline COVID-19 Testing Appointments for Students & Employees

Biocept is offering COVID-19 testing at LA Valley College for students and employees (by appointment only) on Mondays and Tuesdays in Engineering 100; check the Districtwide COVID Testing schedule. If you plan to access college or District facilities, you must have a baseline COVID-19 test by CLEARED4 by October 8, 2021. Schedule your appointment using your private Cleared4 account link that was send to your student email.

LAVC is partnering with Fulgent Genetics to hold on-campus COVID-19 Vaccination & Testing Clinic on August 31 for students, employees and the public to get the vaccine. No appointment needed; all three vaccines options will be available. LAVC students and employees who get vaccinated at this event will receive a $150 gift card to the LAVC Bookstore.

Extended Opportunities Programs & Services (EOPS) is now accepting applications for new students through Sunday, October 24 at 11:59 p.m. Eligible students receive helpful counseling, priority registration, funds to help pay for textbooks and more. $1000 Federal Awards for Students with Financial Aid

Every LA Valley College student enrolled for Fall 2021 who qualifies for financial aid is eligible to receive a $1000 federal stimulus award. To receive the award, you must:

  • Have LAVC as your home campus,
  • Be enrolled at Valley College for Fall 2021, AND
  • Be eligible for the FAFSA, California College Promise Grant (fee waiver), Dream Act Grant, or demonstrate economic hardship resulting from COVID-19

If you haven't already applied for financial aid, complete your Free Application for Federal Student (FAFSA) application (LAVC code is 001228) or complete the California College Promise Grant Application

If you already applied for financial aid, there is no need for you to do anything further. You will automatically receive the award if you qualify.

COVID-19 testing is offered at LA Valley College with Biocept for (by appointment only) on Mondays and Tuesdays. Students and employees with an approved vaccination exemption who access college facilities needs to get tested weekly by Biocept. In addition, all students & employees can get tested weekly through Biocept as an extra safety measure at no out-of-pocket cost.
