LAVC Named as a Top 5 California Community College in Forbes

Los Angeles Valley College has ranked #5 on a Forbes list of Best Community Colleges in California by Academic Influence. The listing also ranked the college as #26 in nation.

LAVC’s Valley Star Student Journalists Earn Top Awards at Journalism Association Convention

Valley Stars student journalists won several awards at the Journalism Association of Community Colleges (JACC) virtual 2021 Spring National College Media Convention. Solomon O. Smith earned 5 awards, Stephen Castaneda got 1 award, and Marcos Franco had an honorable mention. The following is a list of the award winners from LAVC:

This event is part of a lecture and workshop series for LAVC Special Programs led by three nationally recognized artists. Spring Break 2021 is from April 2-9, 2021. Classes are not in session during Spring Break, but some campus offices and services will remain open virtually. Saturday classes resume on Saturday, April 10, and day and evening classes resumes on Monday, April 12. Note: College services will close at 12 p.m. on Friday, April 9.
