Contacting Your Online Team

Instructors of online instruction do not have to develop their classes by themselves. There are many people at Valley College involved in the Distance Learning Program who can aid in the designing of an online course. Below are the emails of each of the team members and their specialty. Please feel free to contact the person who can best answer your questions or help you out.

Jim Marteney, Distance Learning Trainer

Responsibility: Provides individual and group training for professors putting classes online in the Etudes NG system.

Responsibility: Develops procedures for offering online courses, helps in getting instructors their teaching shells, and coordinates the placement of classes online including the uploading of the student rosters.

INTELECOM Online

The INTELECOM Online Resources Network ™ is a hosted and supported digital repository and subscription database of academic video clips - streamed on demand - for use in support of online, hybrid and face-to-face classes.
Choose from a variety of video collections including Biological Sciences, Oceanography, History, Philosophy, Psychology, Political Science, Sociology, Health, and Environmental Studies. In addition, as with academic journal databases, new content is added on an ongoing basis.

Select your academic discipline, course, and clips you would like to view. Just click on “copy to my course” to paste videos into your online course, PowerPoint, discussion post, or blog.

Check out the list of available teaching videos – 23 subject areas to choose from, such as adult basic education, business, ethnic studies, psychology, sociology, etc.
