10. Do you feel that high quality learning can take place without going to a traditional educational facility?
11. Are you willing to spend the time to learn about online pedagogy methods?
To teach online you really need three things:
1. Computer knowledge
You necessary computer knowledge includes using a word processor program and communicating using email. Without basic computer skills you will experience nothing but frustration attempting to teach online.
2. The time to learn the techniques and systems of teaching online.
There is a learning curve needed to teach online. You will need to spend some time learning the ETUDES NG classroom management system. This is accomplished in an online course offered by Foothill College. This can then followed up by group and individual instruction as needed here at Valley College.
3. The desire to create a quality online learning experienced for our students.
Online teaching is not just a way to get out of classroom teaching. To enjoy the experience and feel positive about your accomplishment, you need to want to create an online learning experience that challenges your students and allows them to really learn.
