TRiO Applicant Process
1. Are you eligible?
Please fill out the preliminary applicant eligibility form. This form is not the end deciding factor in your eligibility. It is designed for you to know if you’re eligible. If the results of the form are non-eligibility there may be extenuating circumstances where we can still admit you to the program.
2. Complete application and have verification of your income from the most recent tax year (if dependent, your parents)
The application must be completed, printed, and turned in to the TRiO office.
Don’t forget to bring income information when you bring in your application. The information you will need is your 1040 (if applicable) or your parents 1040.

3. Take the TRiO academic assessment check
The TRiO program has a simple diagnostic check that will help us understand how to better help you with your study skills. This diagnostic check will be given after the interview.
4. Have documentation of your disability (if applicable)
You must supply the TRiO office with documentation of a disability if that determines you’re eligibility.
5. Schedule and appointment with the TRiO counselor
When the application and income tax verification is turned in we will schedule you for an appointment with the TRiO counselor. The counselor will review all the information provided by you to determine your eligibility and admit you into the TRiO program as a TRiO student. You will then complete an Intake Packet which includes Program Expectations, Participant Responsibility Contract, Release of Information form and Academic Needs form. You will take the computerized LASSI assessment test and the results will be reviewed by the counselor at a subsequent meeting.
