WHAT DOES IT TAKE FOR ME TO RECEIVE TRANSCRIPT NOTATION?
The requirements to be a member of T.A.E. are simple. Earn 10 service points for the semester, pay the 10 dollar membership fee, maintain a 3.3 GPA, 12 transferable units completed at LAVC )or 18 transferable units from another other college) and you're in.
WHAT ARE SERVICE POINTS?
Service points are exactly what they read as. Help out the club in some form or another and you might be eligible to receive a point or two. You will receive one point per week for the meeting you attend. Current time and location of meetings are: Tuesday 1:00 p.m. CC208.
These are a very simple way to earn points for the club. One hour maintaining the club day booth, handing out leaflets and flyers and/or managing the items we sell is one full point. Three hours in a day is three points and so on. Half of an hour of service is a half of a point. If you can't stay for the Club Day at all? How about making some food or a poster for us to sell or display? Could be worth some points to you.
TAE has a form for your teacher to sign if you speak in front of your class about the club. Each form you turn in (From a different class every time, same teacher is OK) will be worth a point to you.
Another form of advertising would be posting pre-approved flyers on the walls around campus (In designated areas). The point rewards for this action vary and will be decided by the club in a vote.
10 DOLLAR MEMBERSHIP DUES
These are due by the end of the semester. If you have any problem at all with paying this then please come to Michelle for guidance.
GPA OF 3.3 OR HIGHER
It's simple... maintain this and you're eligible. You can still attend meetings and help out if you don't have this GPA by the end of the semester but nothing will go on your transcript. That goes for everything. Anyone can help out the club and come to meetings, but you won't receive notation unless you meet the above requirements.
