As Associate Dean of Student Services, Dr. Rodriquez has two areas of responsibility the advisor for student government, the Associated Student Union (ASU) and coordinator of the high school concurrent enrollment programs. The Associated Student Union (ASU) consists of two branches: Executive Council and Inter Club Council. The Executive Council represents the student voice on campus and coordinates a variety of activities to supplement the academic experience and encourage social interaction among students. The Inter-Club Council consists of representatives from each of the clubs. Together, this group shares information, and coordinates events to increase club membership and raise funds.
In addition, to strengthen the college's relationship with local high schools, Dr. Rodriguez coordinates a variety of courses on and off campus for high school students. These programs fall under the umbrella of Advanced College Enrollment (ACE).
Prior to coming to Los Angeles Valley College, Dr. Rodriguez has worked at a variety of educational institutions including El Camino College, UCLA and UC Santa Barbara. She earned her doctorate at UCLA in 2000.
