Financial aid forms and applications must be completed correctly and submitted on time. There are different financial deadlines. In most cases, in order for your application to be considered, each deadline must be met. It is very important for you to follow all instructions carefully and answer questions truthfully. If you do not, you will create delays in the processing of your application.

• We recommend that you submit the FAFSA to the U.S. Department of Education (USDE) as soon as possible after January 1. If you are a CA resident and wish to apply for a Cal Grant, the CA Student Aid Commission must receive both your FAFSA and GPA verification by March 2.
• If you wish to be considered as a first priority financial aid applicant, your valid FAFSA must be processed by March 2 and you must submit all required documents by May 1 to the LAVC Financial Aid Office.
• Second Cal Grant deadline- September 2, funding is limited.

If you miss these deadlines and still wish to be considered for Financial Aid, please visit our office as soon as possible. Although we cannot guarantee you will receive aid after the deadline has passed, we will make every effort to assist you.
