New students are expected to complete the online orientation. College life, goal-setting, school policies, procedures, programs of study are presented. Placement results and recommendations are also discussed. Students will complete a one-semester educational plan and receive instructions on enrollment procedures. Counselors are available for follow up advisement and assistance.

Personal Development Courses

All new students are expected to take a 1 or 3 unit Personal Development course prior to the completion of 15 semester units at Los Angeles Valley College. These courses assist students in utilizing important campus resources, improving their study skills, and designing their long-range educational and career plans.
