Summer STEM Investigations Camp (SSIC)  is a two-week summer program from July 31 to August 11, 2017 for students whose placement is Math 125 or higher.

SSIC is designed to develop student interest in STEM fields, prepare them for their math and science courses, and to acquaint them with the college community and resources, moving the students more efficiently through the STEM pathway.

Students will experience various STEM experiments (e.g. CSI, Wonders of the Night Sky, or Electronics LED Flasher), learn how to efficiently read science articles, and be better prepared to solve contextualized math problems in Chemistry.

Upon successful completion of this summer activity, students may register for Physics 6 (with Math 240 or Math 259 prerequisite) or Chemistry 101 (Chemistry 68 will be waived) in the fall.  Students may also participate in PASO’s STEM advising and mentoring program starting in the fall.
