Los Angeles Valley College was awarded a 2009-2010 Statewide Discipline/Industry Collaborative Business/CIS Mini-Grant. The purpose of this project is to train faculty to use social media in their face-to-face and online courses.
Training is being delivered through a variety of ways, including:
- face-to-face
- web based video conferencing
- web based videos
Why use Social Media for Education?
Social media is changing the way we communicate, receive news, information, entertainment and education. Generally, students are connected through social media on their computers, laptops, mobile phones, and Xboxs. Additionally, there are well researched learning theories that support the use of social media in education.
