Program Effectiveness & Planning Committee
Annual Plans
As part of our focus on initiating a cycle of planning, implementation and evaluation (or “pie”), LAVC began doing annual plans in Fall 2009. It’s a chance for everyone to find out about the “big picture” of your own department/service area and to evaluate what’s working and what’s not. The plans you make and the goals you set as a unit will be connected to larger campus planning processes and will help us plan the future of LAVC.
The annual plan process will also help us link our budget decisions with our planning. We will have living documents that will connect our various planning processes. Our workload will be reduced by using this single document to gather information for multiple resource requests and reports. We will have a process that is more effective and more transparent. We will have established a culture of evidence-based decision making that will allow us to make the best decisions to support the mission and goals of the college. We will be able to demonstrate that our planning process is effective.
We will soon be moving to an online system for completing annual plans. Check back here for more information.
ANNUAL PLAN PROCESS 2011-2012 (Planning for 2012-2013)
The annual plan process takes place in modules, with one to three modules completed each month. For instructional areas, the goals module should be submitted directly to the appropriate Academic Affairs Dean. Faculty hiring requests should be submitted to Maria Real in Academic Affairs (following the directions on the form). All other modules should be submitted to the chair of PEPC via email at annualplan@lavc.edu. Modules are due at the end of the month listed.
