"If you are lucky enough to have lived in Paris when you are young, then wherever you go for the rest of your life, it stays with you, for Paris is a moveable feast. ~Ernest Hemingway
The World is a book, and those who do not travel read only a page. ~St. Augustine
I met a lot of people in Europe. I even encountered myself. ~James Baldwin
Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things you didn’t do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines, sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover. ~Mark Twain
Why travel and study abroad? To enrich your education, to develop your self-awareness and understanding of another culture and, in the process, to make new friends.
In the summer of 2016, LA Valley College is offering an unforgettable French immersion experience in Paris, France. This month-long study abroad program, June 30-July 31, combines French language and civilization classes, lodging in either a student residence or with a French family, a full schedule of tours and activities with museum visits, neighborhood walking tours and monument visits such as the Louvre and Musée d'Orsay and Notre Dame cathedral, an evening at the opera, dinner on the Seine River, etc. The program also includes weekend travel excursions out of Paris to such historic places as Claude Monet's home and garden in Giverny, the city of Rouen, the châteaux of Versailles, Fontainebleau and Vaux-le-Vicomte, and a three day excursion to the Loire Valley where you will visit Chenonceau, Chambord, Loches and Amboise. All excursion travel and entrance fees are included in the program fee along with a month-long metro and bus pass to ensure you get the most out of your Parisian study away experience. In addition, there is plenty of time to explore Paris on your own and with new friends from around the world. The base program price for all the above is $3,400. Depending on the course option you select, the price will vary as explained on the Academic program page (see menu in the left margin). A group flight is also available for $1,740
