2012 OPEN HOUSE DATES
Join us at our final Monarch Day Camp Open House for 2012 on Sunday, May 6 from 2-4 PM at the LAVC Aquatics Complex. You can meet the staff, ask questions, get a tour of camp, enter a raffle for a free week of camp and more! Call the Community Services Office at 818-947-2577 x.4172 for more information.

PLEASE NOTE THE FOLLOWING IMPORTANT FIELD TRIP SCHEDULE CHANGES FOR SUMMER 2012:

WE WILL NO LONGER BE GOING TO ZUMA BEACH ON JULY 11. WE WILL GO TO THE EL CAPITAN THEATER TO SEE THE MOVIE BRAVE ALONG WITH A LIVE STAGE SHOW.

WE WILL NOT GO TO UNIVERSAL CITY WALK ON JULY 18. WE WILL GO TO ZUMA BEACH INSTEAD.

Here is a List of Main Activities and Events for 1st week of Camp (June 18-23, 2012):

Monday June 18 -ALL CAMPS will have group orientations and swim tests today
Tuesday June 19 MONARCH DAY CAMP- Swim lessons and arts and crafts activity in the morning
ALL CAMPS-Afternoon free swim
Wednesday June 20

-MONARCH DAY CAMP, THEATER ARTS CAMP, ALL SPORTS CAMP & NATURE CAMP-Will go on a trip to the California Science Center and IMAX Theater (film selection TBD)
    *Campers attending MUST wear their camp shirt. If your child does not wear their shirt today you will be given the option of returning home to get it (bus will not wait for late arrivals, and you may not leave your child at camp while you return home) or you may purchase a replacement shirt in the Community Services Office for $7.00. Sorry but we can not "lend" camp t-shirts to campers.
    * We will depart at approximately 10 AM and return to campus no later than 4:30 PM
    * NO swimming today for Monarch Day Camp
-AQUATICS, BASKETBALL, GYMNASTICS, SOCCER AND TENNIS-Will stay at camp and participate in their respective specialty activities. Free swim in afternoon.
Thursday June 21 ALL CAMPS-There is no cookout today, so please send lunch and snack today (as usual). Free Swim in afternoon.
MONARCH DAY CAMP- Swim lessons and arts and crafts activity in the morning.
ALL PARENTS, CAMPERS AND FAMILY-Please join us tonight on the alumni patio (in Monarch Stadium) for our annual Meet The Staff Hot Dog Social. You'll enjoy a complimentary cookout, meet the camp staff and have the option to play some camp games and sing camp songs.
Friday June 22

-MONARCH DAY CAMP, THEATER ARTS CAMP, ALL SPORTS CAMP & NATURE CAMP-Retro Dance (your child should wear anything from the 40's through the 90's today-ask your child's counselor for more information). Free swim in afternoon.
-AQUATICS, BASKETBALL, GYMNASTICS, SOCCER AND TENNIS-will play games and matches today. Free swim in afternoon.
