Welcome to the Media Arts Department
The Media Arts Departments has as its mission the preparation of students who have a broad understanding of the many facets of Radio, Television, Motion Pictures, and all that comprises the Media Arts and who will be able to participate in the entertainment industry as working, educated professionals.
The Cinema and Media Arts production curriculae are centered on a “from-script-to-screen” intensive approach to filmmaking, with the student wearing all the production hats (producer, writer, director, cameraman, editor, soundman, production manager, gaffer, grip, etc.).
In Cinema, students use both 16mm and digital film for all beginning, intermediate, and advanced courses, and they have experiences related to areas of video and multimedia production. Broadcasting and Media Arts student get hands-on experience in the new digital video formats.
