If you would like me to write you a recommendation letter, please provide me with the following:

• A description of your endeavor; i.e. who will be reading this letter, why they are interested in a letter from me, and why you want to pursue this goal.
• A short background of your academic (or other) accomplishments.
• At least two weeks notice before the letter is due (if you give me less than two weeks to do this, I cannot guarantee it will be mailed in time).

The letter will be sealed in an official LAVC envelope, signed across the back flap, and available for pick-up in AHS 222.  If you need it to be mailed directly, please provide me with a stamped addressed envelope.

If you need a reference form to be filled out, please complete the section about yourself (usually at the beginning of the form), because I will not do that part. Also, you are advised to check the box in which you waive your right to see the letter; otherwise, the letter will be less credible.

A copy of your recommendation letter will not always be available for you to see; please check with me if you have such a request, or if you want extra copies.

I am happy to help you reach the next step in your academic and/or professional career.  Please be advised that your letter will reflect the quality of your work in my class, and I can not write a good letter for a poor student.  However, I will do my best to emphasize the best qualities that I perceive.  Good luck in your future endeavors!
