Precision Dynamics Honors Graduates

June 25, 2004 -- Precision Dynamics Corporation of San Fernando honored 36 employees today at a graduation ceremony, following completion of a series of three courses in vocational English. These courses were offered through Project Valley Works and funded by a grant from the U.S. Housing and Urban Development, Office of University Partnerships.

Los Angeles Valley College Job Training Office is the grant recipient and provided the curriculum design and instruction in collaboration with the HR staff at Precision Dynamics Corporation. The grant, a Hispanic Serving Institution Assisting Communities Program, is designed to provide training to businesses and job seekers in the Northeast San Fernando Valley.

Instruction for the 48-hour series included English terminology that related to important areas such as safety, communication with each other, and communication with management. Enthusiasm for the course was exemplified by 17 graduates who were honored for perfect attendance.

"I am very excited about their success," exclaimed Job Training director Lennie Ciufo. "The knowledge they gained will be instrumental in their moving forward within the company."

Ciufo reports the success was so overwhelming that another class has been added to the slate. A new course designed to help English speakers with their Spanish is under development. The first to sign-up for that course was company President/CEO Gary Hutchinson. Instruction is planned to begin in late July.
