Los Angeles - - The highly successful partnership between Los Angeles Valley College, Metro, and Community Career Development, Inc. (CCD) continues in full swing as another class of potential bus operators was given certificates of completion.
Twenty-one students accepted the congratulations, supported by family and friends, as well as representatives from all three organizations.
Among the speakers at the ceremony was Metro CEO Art Leahy who reminded the class to be “vigilant in providing outstanding customer service to the ridership.”
Also on hand for the graduation were Metro representatives Michelle Lopes Caldwell (Chief Administrative Services Officer), Stefan Chasnov (Deputy Executive Officer Human Resources), Steve Jaffe (Interim Executive Officer of Human Resources), and Hector A. Guerrero (Director of Operations Central Instruction). CCD was well-represented by Program Director Gabriela Quintana who also spoke to the group.
With the conclusion of this Metro Bridge class, Job Training has helped more than 300 individuals become employed as bus operators during 2012.
The thriving relationship with Metro and CCD continues in 2013 as the transportation needs of the City of Los Angeles continues to grow.
