October 1, 2009 - - Los Angeles Valley College and Precision Dynamics Corporation (PDC) partnered to sponsor a two-hour Business Success Academy titled, “Green Goes to Work.” The complimentary workshop featured PDC’s Green Team facilitators Chris Stetson and Robert Holmes. Both shared with the audience how their involvement to cut waste in paper and Styrofoam products led to a green revolution at their work site.
Following the workshop, most agreed they found a new perception about the way they conduct business, especially with the green consciences becoming important in business practices. The shift to educate their existing and future workforce about saving money and the environment can no longer be ignored. Learning about potential green initiatives, setting up metrics to measure progress, and identifying opportunities resulting from green initiative were areas of discussion. In addition, many familiar topics such as recycling, energy, and material conservation were discussed.
The bottom line - both small and large companies can benefit from going green at work.
Becca Dotten, Director of Communications for Los Angeles City Councilman Richard Alarcon, presented a City Proclamation to Precision Dynamics Corporation for their lead in organizing a Green Team at their San Fernando manufacturing facility.
In a statement, Alarcon said, Precision Dynamics has taken on the green initiative challenge and is helping to lead the charge when it comes to environmentally responsible practices... We applaud Precision Dynamics and LA Valley College's efforts to help in this effort of the Los Angeles Community."
