Many students pass up the opportunity to receive a grant or fee waiver because they think they might not qualify or don't want to bother doing the paperwork.  All programs are based on specific eligibility criteria and the premise that students and their families (if applicable) have the primary responsibility of meeting their educational costs. Financial aid is meant to supplement your existing income/financial resources and should not be used as your sole means of income to support other non-educational related expenses.
