The green myLACCDcard envelopeAttention Students!

Financial aid disbursements are accessed via the myLACCDcard by Higher One.

The myLACCDcard by HigherOne
is NOT a Credit Card

If you receive financial aid, your disbursements will be deposited into your myLACCDcard. This debit card will be the easiest way to manage and access your financial aid funds. Please activate your card as soon as it arrives in the mail. Look for the green envelope with the District Logo and follow the instructions to set up your account.

The following items should answer most of your frequently asked questions:

Q: What is the myLACCDcard?

A: The myLACCDcard is a new debit card from HigherOne Inc, a financial services company specializing in higher education. This card will allow you to easily access your disbursement funds (also called a “refund”). Once your debit card has been activated and the refund preference has been selected, you will be able to access your financial aid disbursements on the day that the Los Angeles Community College District releases the funds.

Q: When should I receive myLACCDcard?

A: In August 2010 HigherOne will be mailing out the myLACCDcard to all students who have a student ID number and a valid ISIR at any of the nine colleges of the District. The card will be in a green envelope with the LACCD logo on it. To check the status of your card, or to get a sample of what the envelope looks like, visit www.myLACCDcard.com.

Q: I don’t have my card yet. How do I find out about the status of my card?

A: You can find out the status of your card by visiting www.myLACCDcard.com. Click on the “Where’s My Card” link and follow the instructions.

Q: Why do I need to activate my card?

A: Activation of the myLACCDcard and setting up your OneAccount with a disbursement preference is essential and required for you to receive your financial aid through the Easy Refund method. For more information on activating your card, visit www.myLACCDcard.com.

Q: Why do I need to select my refund preferences?

A: You need to go to your OneAccount to select your refund preferences to ensure that the Los Angeles Community College District knows how you would like to receive your funds. For more information, visit www.myLACCDcard.com.

Q: What is OneAccount?

A: OneAccount is the account that you will set up with HigherOne to activate and select your refund preference. To learn more about OneAccount, visit www.myLACCDcard.com and select the “Learn More” tab.

Q: How do I activate myLACCDcard and select my refund preference?

A: As soon as you receive your myLACCDcard, you will need to activate the card by visiting www.myLACCDcard.com. Log into OneAccount by entering the 16-digit number on your myLACCDcard, and complete the following step-by-step instructions*:

(1) Authenticate card

There will also be two ATM machines placed at LAVC to give you access to your funds on campus.
