ABOUT PROFESSOR Ventimiglia

Email: ventimmi@piercecollege.edu

Michelle Ventimiglia has been involved in Early Child Education since she was a student here at LA Valley College in 1974.  Her love for learning more about young children grew with each class she completed.  After receiving her AA degree in Child Development, she transferred over to CSUN for her BA degree in Child Development and her MA in Education, with an emphasis in Child Development.  Michelle has held teaching and directing positions in LAUSD EC Centers, Co-Op nursery schools, church related schools for many years and in her own private center for 15 years.  Michelle was one of the very first LA Universal Preschools programs selected in LA County.

Michelle began teaching Child Development as an adjunct instructor at Mission College in 1999 and branched out to Pierce and LA Valley College as well.  She has taught just about every class offered in the CD departments but is partial to curriculum and administration classes.  She has been working with the CD WFI  grant offered by LAUP with a focus on meeting the needs of High School students and providing program planning.  She is also on the selection committee at LA Valley for the California Mentor program. This is an exciting field to work in and there is always something new to learn about and share with students, children and families.
