As a Child Development specialist, Leonor Vazquez has worked extensively with young children from diverse backgrounds. She comes to LAVC with a B.A. degree in Psychology from the University of Southern California and an M.A. degree in Child Development from California State University Los Angeles.
Leonor has worked with physically challenged children as a Child Life Specialist at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles and as a Quality Assurance Supervisor of In-home teachers, training them to work with developmentally delayed infants as well as the use of assessment tools. She has also served as an Early Start Specialist at one of the seven Southern California Regional Centers funded by the state and as a Consultant in the Child Development field.
At this time, Leonor is pursuing a doctoral degree in Educational Psychology at USC. She is also an adjunct instructor at Los Angeles City College and Los Angeles Valley College and serves as the field supervisor for The Infant and Toddler Teacher Institute (ITTI), a specially funded project dedicated to improving the knowledge and skills of infant and toddler caregivers.
