 LA Valley CHILD Project

The Los Angeles Valley College Childcare Institutional Linkage Development Project (LA CHILD Project) is a collaboration between Los Angeles Valley College (LAVC), Los Angeles Regional Occupation Program (ROP), and seven local high schools:

Cleveland
Francis Polytechnic
Grant
Kennedy
North Hollywood
San Fernando
Van Nuys

The project also includes seven industry partners:

Bright Horizons
Childcare Resource Center
Children's Circle
LAVC "Parent and Baby" Program
Los Angeles Unified School District Early Childhood Education Division
Oakdale School
Volunteers of America Los Angeles

Additionally, there are three 4-year colleges:

California State University at Northridge (CSUN)
Mount Saint Mary’s
University of LaVerne

The project builds on LAVC’s strong child development department, workforce development programs, and partnerships with local high schools and industry. The project will develop a regional collaboration group consisting of high school counselors and child development/careers teachers, Los Angeles Valley College Child Development instructors, and industry professionals.
