Open Call, which began in 1950 as the "All City Outdoor Festival", gives emerging artists and students an opportunity to exhibit their artwork, and achieve recognition through cash prizes. Only works that spoke to the theme were accepted, and the mediums included sculpture, paintings, and photography.

The LA Municipal Art Gallery (LAMAG) at 4800 Hollywood Boulevard, Los Angeles, CA 90027 and is open Thursday-Sunday from 12 noon-5 p.m. Admission is free. For more information, visit the Los Angeles Municipal Art Gallery Web page.

In addition, it runs an art gallery that features a variety of exhibitions each year, including an annual student art show. For more information, visit the LAVC Art Department Web page.
