Los Angeles Valley College is prominently featured in a video promoting the new LA College Promise Program on the LA College Promise Web site. Featured in the video are scenes of students, faculty and staff in the college's Student Union, Planetarium, Krupnick Media Arts Center, KVCM radio station, and the Allied Health & Sciences Center.

The LAVC College Promise will provide one year of free enrollment to any of the nine Los Angeles Community College District (LACCD) campuses to all graduating Los Angeles Unified School District (LAUSD) and charter high school seniors in 2017. It is a joint partnership with the LACCD, LAUSD, City of Los Angeles, LA Chamber of Commerce, UNITE LA and private philanthropy to increase the number of community college graduates, university transfer and workforce-ready students in the Los Angeles region.

This Promise video was also showcased at the program's official launch on September 14 with Second Lady of the United States Dr. Jill Biden, LA Mayor Eric Garcetti, LACCD Board President Scott Svonkin, LACCD Chancellor Francisco Rodriguez, and LAUSD Superintendent Michelle King.
