LAVC President Erika Endrijonas Featured in CSUN Today

California State University, Northridge (CSUN) profiled LAVC President Dr. Erika Endrijonas in an article on its CSUN Today Web page on May 19.

The article, titled "CSUN Gave LA Valley College President Erika Endrijonas a New Direction", shares how meeting Professor John Broesamle as an undergrad at CSUN inspired her to have a completely different vision of her life. Eventually, it started Dr. Endrijonas on a journey that would lead to her to be the president of Valley College.

The piece notes that as LAVC's President, she became a "transformative figure" for the college during a tumultuous time—from helping to balance the college budget to steering LAVC back into good standing for its accreditation. She is an openly lesbian woman, and has an inclusive leadership style where she expects "inclusive action and language" and fosters an "environment where everyone believes they have a seat at the table". The article goes on to acknowledge that for her accomplishments as a college president and as a champion of gender equity, she was honored earlier this year as Los Angeles City Council District 2’s “2017 Pioneer Woman of the Year.”. Read the CSUN Today article.

CSUN, which is located in the San Fernando Valley, is one of the 23 campuses in the California State University system.
