Welcome Amari Williams to the LAVC Institutional Effectiveness Office

The LAVC Institutional Effectiveness (IE) Office welcomed Amari Williams as its new Research Analyst in March.

Working with Michelle Fowles, the LAVC dean of institutional effectiveness, Amari will be responsible for preparing reports and analysis to support institutional planning and decision-making. In addition, he will have a special emphasis on our monitoring and evaluation of the LAVC Student Equity plan, interventions and outcomes. He will provide data analysis to aid the college in developing new strategies for student success, institutional improvement and meeting accountability requirements.

Prior to arriving at Valley College, Amari was an Assistant Research Analyst at LA Pierce College, where he ran enrollment management reports, processed data requests, conducted student surveys, prepared reports for internal and external organizations, coordinated Pierce’s Fact Book, and performed qualitative and quantitative analysis of student performance, teaching methodology, and other aspects to improve access, equity and student success. Preceding that position, he was the director of alumni for Camino Nuevo charter school, worked in college enrollment and admission at Cal State East Bay and Chapman University, and was the institutional research coordinator at Alliant University (formerly known as California School of Professional Psychology).

He holds his bachelor's degree in psychology from Tulane University, and his master's in education from California State University, Los Angeles.

Amari’s office is located in the Foundation/Public Relations/Institutional Effectiveness Office in Admin 3 (southern entrance), and he can be reached at (818) 778-5978 or WILLIAAD2@lavc.edu.
