Welcome Michelle Lin—Research Analyst in Student Services

Michelle Lin is one of Valley College's newest Research Analyst. She will be working to analyze need gaps in the Student Services areas using data, and will help focus efforts in aligning services for student success.

Welcome Michelle Lin—Research Analyst in Student Services

LAVC Student Services welcomed Michelle Lin as its new Research Analyst in February 2016. Working under Student Success and Support Services, this new position will focus Student Services' efforts in aligning all of its services for student success. 

Michelle will be working with all the Student Services areas to analyze need gaps on its services using data and using data to identifying ways to improve outcomes. She is currently learning how data is reported back to the state, and will be working with the LAVC Office of Institutional Effectiveness for data requirements.

Prior to arriving at Valley College, Michelle was a reward and evaluation manager. She also has experience with writing reports for grants at the non-profit Youth Policy Institute, and was the evaluation manager at the Taller San Jose non-profit in Orange County.

An alumna of Valley College, she went on to earn her bachelor's degree in psychology from UC Berkeley, and her master's degree in education on psychological studies from UCLA.
