Guardian Scholars Receives a $25,000 Pritzker Grant

The LAVC Guardian Scholars announced that the Anthony and Jeanne Pritzker Family Foundation has awarded it a $25,000 grant from the Pritzker Foster Care Initiative to support current and former foster youth on campus.

The LAVC Guardian Scholars program is foster youth program that provides support for current and former foster youth attending Valley College.

"This is a tremendous deal to us being that our Guardian Scholars student population faces a great deal of adversity both on and off-campus," said Alex Ojeda, Guardian Scholars Coordinator. "So these funds will help alleviate some of those stressors."

In addition, the Guardian Scholars program is currently accepting applications from current and former foster youth for the Spring 2018 semester.
