LAVC physics students celebrate Metric Day with a display outside the Counseling Office. This activity was held to raise awareness about the Metric system, which is used throughout the world, and to encourage people to sign a petition for the United States to move to the metric system.

Dr. Douglas Marriott has been named as the new Director of Workforce Training at LAVC. In this new role, he will be responsible for overseeing Cooperative Education, Job Training, Extension and the Job Resource Center with workforce training programs.

The Monarch Athletic teams were on fire this past week! Men's Water Polo beat Citrus College, Women's Water Polo defeated Santa Barbara, Women's Soccer beat Santa Monica, and Football won over Antelope Valley. Don't miss the upcoming Women's Water Polo game on October 14 at 3:30 p.m and Women's Soccer on October 16 at 4 p.m.

LAVC Receives a $360,000 Grant to Help Improve Student Success

LA Valley College, East LA College and LA Trade Tech College awarded a $650,000 grant from the U.S. Department of Education to develop activities to make significant improvement to student success. The three schools will work together to improve retention, persistence, and completion rates of students.
