andreya.jpg A veritable “wall,” soccer goalkeeper Andreya Ventura collected ten  shutouts in 17 starts, her exploits accomplished, in spite of a season  shortening concussion. A first team, Western State Conference  selection, Ventura earned a trip to Northern California to play in the  Sophomore Classic, showcasing her talents before moving east to  William Penn University, where the scholarship recipient will  continue her academic and athletic career.

California’s leading scorer in 2015, water polo center, Arman Momdzhyan scored a whopping 114 goals this season, averaging almost five per game. For his efforts, the Western State Conference named him as their player of the year as well as a two-time selection to the all-conference team. Additionally, he’s a two-time all-Southern California athlete, two-time all-American, and the driving force behind the Monarchs’ back to back conference championships.

A Message From the Athletic Director

Welcome to Los Angeles Valley College and our athletic programs.  We are looking forward to an exciting, Fall 2016 season!  Our athletic department is proud, not only of our athletic success, but, of the personal integrity and good sportsmanship displayed by our student athletes on and off the field.

Thank you to all of our head coaches and staff, who spend countless hours recruiting and working with our student athletes.  We are proud of their efforts.  The principles of academic success, athletic skill development, and transfer opportunity, are obligations that our staff offers our young men and women who proudly call themselves Valley Monarchs!

We welcome the new student athletes, both freshmen and transfers, to Valley College, and anticipate their experience, will prove to be both exciting and rewarding.  We commend them for their efforts and welcome them as ambassadors to Valley College.  Set your goals high, base your commitment to hard work, second effort, punctuality, and teamwork.  Just as these characteristics will bring championships to your teams, they will also guide you to be a champion in the classroom and life.  LA Valley is interested in your welfare and we are here to foster your overall success and experience here at LA Valley College.

Jim Fenwick

Athletic Director

The Zone"

Our student athletes refer to our new computer lab, as “The Zone”, or the endzone that gets them where they want to go!

The new state of the art, satellite computer lab that was recently completed, within the new Community

Service Building, next to the Monarch Athletic Center. The "Zone" is funded and supported by the Equity Grant on campus.

This facility is available to all student athletes from 9am to 2pm daily! English and Math tutors are provided every Tuesday and Wednesday.  The computer center is the home of our athletic counselor, Reggie Reed (pictured on the right). Reggie is available to meet with all student athletes regarding their counseling needs. Full supervision is provided by John Fonua (pictured on the left).  As the supervising monitor, John collaborates with head coaches of all sports to ensure their teams study hall goals are met.

We are fortunate for the Equity Grant funding and proud of what we have to offer our student athletes to stay committed to their academic goals.
