Championships - Three Listed
as All-Americans

State track and field finals ended with four finalists listed as All-Americans: Molly Pearlman (pole vault), Austin Allen (pole vault), Reginal Trotter
(high jump), and Angel Alcantar (3,000m steeplechase).

Fall at Meet

The Western State Conference's best proved to be home-grown Thursday, as records were set by both the men and the women in the finals held at Valley College.

On the men's side, new marks were set in the 200 free relay and 400 medley relay. In the 200, the team of Chris Cordobes, Chad Wilson, Zakary Zukoski, and Robert Cordobes finished in 1:25.17, shattering the old school record of 1:27.57. The following day, the foursome flew to a new time in the 200 medley relay in a record 1:37.24 In the 400, Jack Acampora and Nick Rapose teamed with Wilson and Cordobes to set a new record time of 3:31.18, breaking the old mark of 3:33.43. Cordobes remained hot as he broke a 22-year-old record in the 200 freestyle with a 1:44.70 Finally, the 400 relay team (R. Cordobes, Zukoski, C. Cordobes, and Wilson) crushed a three-dacade-old record with a 3:06.38 finish, bettering the old mark by six seconds.

For the women, three 23-year-old records were demolished. Mor Flaisman swam a 5:12.46 in the 500 freestyle; In the 400 medley relay, the team of Cassidy Swick, Sabrina Hatzer, Nayiri Kechichian, and Flaisman set a new time of 4:14.92; and in the 50-yard backstroke, Swick finished with a 29.83. A red hot Flaisman also broke the 200 freestyle record with a time of 1:57.56.

Own School Record - Again

Pole vaulter Molly Pearlman, who
set a school record at the
Antelope Valley Invitational
March 30, broke it again at Mt. SAC on April 13, clearing the bar at
12'2". Pearlman is a product
of Notre Dame High School.
