Available Positions:

  • ASU Treasurer
  • Commissioner of Athletics
  • Commissioner of Campus and Environmental Affairs
  • Commissioner of Evening Division
  • Commissioner of Public Affairs
  • Inter-Club Council Representative

To serve as an ASU Officer in the Executive Council, you must:

  1. Pay the $10 ASU fee for each semester enrolled.
  2. Be enrolled in and complete a minimum of 5 units each semester.
  3. Maintain a current and cumulative GPA of 2.0 or above.
  4. Not be on academic or progress probation.
  5. Not have completed over 80 units at the time of election.
  6. Adhere to the policies set forth in the ASU Constitution and By-Laws, as well as the policies of LACCD and Valley College. For LACCD regualtions that govern the ASU please go to:  www.laccd.edu/About/Pages/Admin-Regs  Look for the S and E regulations, you will find them under ASO. 
  7. Attend Executive Council meetings every other Tuesday from 2pm-5pm.
    1. ​If you are appointed for Inter-Club Coincil Representative you must be available on Tuesdays for the Executive Council meetings from 2pm-5pm and for the Inter-Club Council meetings every other Thursday from 1pm-3pm.
  8. ​You must commit to five (5) hours a week of office duty. 
  9. The ASU is committed to representing student interests by participating in shared governance. You must attend two (2) shared governance committees a semester.  Click here for a complete list of active campus shared governance committees.
