Can't make it to The Writing Center for a visit but still need assistance with your paper? Welcome to our online Writing Center. This facet of The Writing Center will allow students to receive feedback regarding their papers via e-mail.

Read and follow all of the directions carefully in order to receive timely feedback!

Submission Guidelines:

1. You must be a current LAVC student in order to use this service.

3. Estimated time for review and emailed return of your paper depends on the day we initially receive your email.

• Sunday -- Thursday: 2 days
• Friday -- Saturday: 3 days

In your email, you must include the following information:

1. Last name, first name

2. The class you're enrolled in

3. The last 4 digits of your Student ID Number. (This is the number that begins with 88.)

4. Explain the instructions for your assignment. That is, what did your professor ask you to do.

5. What questions do you want answered about the assignment/paper. Focus the response to only one or two major issues.

Because we are committed to a learning centered approach to writing, we will not physically make changes to your paper. However, we will provide you with feedback, suggestions, and detailed responses to your questions. We believe that by helping you focus on content, structure, and grammar, you will begin to acquire the necessary skills to edit and revise your own papers. We understand that paper length varies; because we are trying to serve a large student body, we will identify key concerns that are affecting the overall integrity and quality of the text and address those as specifically as we can.
