The Writing Center consultants are a group of individuals with different levels of education and a variety of disciplines of study. Each consulatnat is a student and therefore a peer of the students who seek assistance from The Writing Center. In addition to meeting the necessary requirements for tutoring eligibility, the consultants at the The Writing Center are involved in continuous training in tutoring and composition.

Tutors / Writing Consultants in The Writing Center at LAVC Fall 2008

Holly Batty joined The Writing Center in Spring 2006. She is currently a student at UClA, majoring in English and serves as a tutor coordinator for The Writing Center. She hopes to be a published writer and English professor in the future.

Kristen Becker joined The Writing Center in Fall 2006. She received her B.A. from UCSC and is currently working as the editor in chief for the Valley Star. She plans to earn her master's degree in journalism and cover national politics for a major newspaper.

Ramella Davodian joined The Writing Center in Spring 2007. She is currently a student at UCLA, pursuing her degree in English. She hopes to be an English professor in the future.

Daniel Fischer joined The Writing Center in Spring 2007. A current student at LAVC, he is a majoring in Political Science and plans to transfer to UCSC to complete his degree.

Nicholas Gutierrez joined The Writing Center Staff in 2003. He graduated from CSUN with his B.S. in Biology and now serves as a tutor coordinator for The Writing Center. He will be attending graduate school next fall.

 Robert Kane joined The Writing Center in Februrary 2004. In addition to completing his undergraduate work at CSUN, he's a member of the Alliance of Los Angeles Playwrights. He's also a published writer and has had several plays receive full production.

 Edwina Loh joined The Writing Center in Spring 2006. She is currently a student at UCLA and majoring in Biology. In addition to being trilingual, Edwina has had previous experience in tutoring both ESL and native speaker students.

Anand "Andy" Ramachandran received his B.A. in English from the University of Colorado-Boulder. His major author was Shakespeare and he is interested in Gothic and Victorian literature and detective fiction.

Jesse Richardson joined The Writing Center in Fall 2007. He is currently pursuing a music major at LAVC, and plans on transferring to a university to complete his degree and become a music therapist.

Kristina Yegoryan joined The Writing Center as a tutor in the Spring Semester 2005. She is a full time student at LAVC who is majoringin Business Administration.
