As
half of the class stays in for lecture, the other half works outside on
two of their competition evolutions.
The
Engineer breaks the line, connects it to the Engine and awaits the call
for water from the nozzle member.
Every
person is critical when "laying a line," the hydrant member
must properly and quickly make the first connection.
The
nozzle members must dress in full turnouts and knock down a cone with
water.
A
second company member attaches the supply line to the Engine.
After
the completion of the event, companies go through a debriefing session
to discuss improvements.
