Purpose:
To monitor space utilization and work environment matters and make policy recommendations to the College Council.
To promote the goal of improving the quality of the work environment by developing recommendations regarding work environment issues and seeking to reach agreement with the College Administration to implement those recommendations.

Long Term Goals:
- Examine requests by departments for revision of their current space allocation.
- Investigate the needs of departments for modernizing current facilities.
- Prioritize Valley College's capital construction projects.
- Review Campus Alterations and Improvements projects costing more than $100,000 and make recommendations to the College Council.
- Carry out responsibilities of the Campus Work Environment Committee, as described in the Collective Bargaining Agreements.

Goals for 2006-2007:
- Develop a Campus “Green Policy,” that supports efforts to function as a sustainable community and promotes ecological literacy and environmentally sound best practices among students, employees and visitors to Los Angeles Valley College.
- Help prepare the students, employees and visitors of Los Angeles Valley College for potential emergency situations and protect them, as much as possible, from the dangers of possible disaster situations on campus.
- Make Los Angeles Valley College a place where everyone can feel safe, by fostering an attitude of collegial interaction among students, faculty, staff and visitors, and discouraging violence, intimidation, or any other hostile strategies of interpersonal interaction.
- Support development of the LAVC Facilities Master Plan through participation in planning matters concerning the College work environment.
